It’s easy to understand why most women put so much importance in caring for their hair. It is a symbol of femininity and being both personal and public – the way a woman chooses to style it can be a reflection of her personality and of who she is. Whether you prefer to keep yours down or in a chic short bob, it’s always a good idea to use the right products for your hair type.

    • For fine hair – use a volumising shampoo. It adds body for a fuller and healthier look.
    • For curly hair – a shampoo designed for dry or chemically treated locks will help tame those annoying flyaways and that damaged look.
    • For dry hair – look for a shampoo with natural oils for intensive moisture replenishment.
    • For oily hair – an anti-dandruff shampoo should be used if dandruff is a problem. Avoid moisturising or conditioning shampoo because adding moisture to oily hair should be avoided.
    • For colour-treated hair – a colour-preserving shampoo will help keep colour vibrant and prevent the new do you just spent a small fortune on from fading out.

Odds are, your face is the one body part that everyone you encounter pays the most attention to. It’s only natural that you give it the extra TLC it deserves. Taking good care of your face will help give you the clear and radiant complexion you’ve always wanted and keep away issues like dryness, premature wrinkles and breakouts.
Make sure to use a gentle, non-abrasive cleanser without alcohol to maintain your skin’s natural moisture. If acne is giving you trouble, ask your dermatologist to recommend a prescription or over-the-counter cleanser. Avoid harsh face soaps or cleansers that can strip your skin of natural oils and scrubs that only cause irritation and promote flare-ups.
Leaving your make-up on while you sleep is a big no-no. Apply a generous amount of mild cleanser on your face and neck. Massage the product into your skin and gently remove it with a soft washcloth. Do this a second time to remove any remaining traces of make-up and dirt. When removing eye make-up, avoid rubbing and always pat to prevent fine lines from developing.
To keep you looking fresh throughout the day, you can also try oil blotting films or papers to keep away shine.

When we were kids, we used to never care about our skin. We would spend long hours out in the sun and didn’t mind the little nicks and scratches we got from playing rough. Today, it’s a different story. We know that the rest of our body deserves just as much love as the skin on our faces. Use a mild body cleanser to avoid drying out your skin. Don’t forget to moisturise to keep it nice and soft and silky smooth.
And since we’re on the topic of freshness, don’t skip the deodorant. Find a non-irritating antiperspirant for sensitive skin or an antiperspirant-deodorant product to stop sweat and odour.

Special care should be given to the intimate area. In this sensitive part of your body, the normal pH level is more acidic and the types of healthy organisms present are different. Disturbing this delicate balance may lead to unpleasant feminine issues like odour, discharge and itch. Which is why – besides being gentle enough for daily use – a feminine wash should be specially designed to maintain your intimate area’s pH balance and support its natural flora.
